Please click on the Access ESOL logo to register for ESOL classes in Glasgow
All 3 of Glasgow's Colleges - City of Glasgow College, Glasgow Clyde College and Glasgow Kelvin College, use the same waiting list to fill ESOL classes - the ESOL Access Register.
When you register you will receive a unique number by text message. Keep this number safe - perhaps by keeping the text message. Do not register your name more than once.
Next, make an appointment to be assessed at a local library. When you are assessed you are given a yellow certificate with your level - keep this safe. You will also be given information about free English classes you can go to in places like libraries, churches and community centres without having to wait. You can find information about assessment sessions at libraries here - ESOL assessment and advice sessions.
When a college has space in ESOL classes they will invite people from the ESOL Access Register who have had a level assessment into their classes. Please do not go into colleges or contact colleges directly - you cannot get a class by doing this.
There are thousands of people in Glasgow looking for a place in an ESOL class in College. It can take anywhere from 3 months to 2 years to get a place at college, but there are many high-quality English classes in libraries and community centres where you can learn English without having to wait. You can find one by clicking here.
It is important that the ESOL Access Register has accurate information. If you change address or phone number please tell the register by e-mailing accessadmin@esolnetworkproject.org. If you have more than one Registration Number, please also e-mail the ESOL Access Register to tell them your numbers. You can also contact the register with other questions.
