When you register you will receive a unique number by text message. Keep this number safe - perhaps by keeping the text message. Do not register your name more than once. You will then be placed on to the waiting list for an assessment. When selected for assessment you will be sent a text message containing the assessment details.
When you are assessed you are given a yellow certificate with your level - keep this safe. You will also be given information about free English classes you can go to in places like libraries, churches and community centres without having to wait. There are thousands of people in Glasgow looking for a place in an ESOL class in College. It can take anywhere from 3 months to 2 years to get a place at college, but there are many high-quality English classes in libraries and community centres where you can learn English without having to wait. Colleges are now handling their own admissions and therefore if you wish to attend college you need to apply directly with them. The ESOL register sis for the provision of community ESOL classes.
